Gov. Jim Doyle of Wisconsin believes state taxpayers are paying Hollywood too much and his proposed budget would end film tax incentives.

The governor has now proposed a grant program instead of tax incentives:”If you’re in the industry and are actually going to create full-time jobs here in this state, the budget proposes $500,000 that would go to help for the creation of actual jobs in the state,” Doyle said.

It is widely believed that the sate may lose many film projects and potential jobs if the state does away with the incentives.[via]
