Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael S. Mink denied rapper Lil Wayne’s request for a preliminary injunction this week to block the release of QD3 Entertainment’s documentary “The Carter.” The Carter is a documentary about Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. aka Lil’ Wayne.

Lil Wayne sued QD3,  Quincy Jones III and Digerati Holdings last month, alleging that he was not allowed to exercise his right of approval over the contents of the film, which premiered earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival.
