Mumbai, India city workers reportedly bulldozed the home of  “Slumdog Millionaire” child actor Azharuddin Mohammed Ismail today as part of the demolition of dozens of shanties in a Mumbai slum.

Ismail was reportedly asleep when a police officer woke him up and told him to leave his family’s home. Authorities say his family will be given a new home elsewhere.

This follows the allegations that the father of fellow child actress Rubina Ali tried to sell her to an undercover reporter disguised as a rich sheik.

Although the child actors have experienced fame their day-to-day lives remain unchanged.

“Slumdog” filmmakers say they’ve set up a trust, called Jai Ho, after the hit song from the film, to ensure the children get proper homes, a good education and a nest egg when they finish high school. They also donated $747,500 to a charity to help slum kids in Mumbai.

Producers have not told anyone the amount of the trust fund, not even the parents,  for fear of making the children vulnerable to exploitation.
