Veteran Australian actor Ray Barrett, last seen on screen as Nicole Kidman’s father in Australia, has died at the age of 82, his agent has confirmed. He died in hospital from a brain haemorrhage after falling over at home, his agent Jane Cameron said.

Controversial French filmmaker,  Christian Poveda who recently made the documentary “La Vida Loca,” which follows the lives of members of El Salvador’s La 18 street gang, was killed on Wednesday. He was 52 years old.

Police reportedly found Poveda’s body inside a car in a Tonacatepeque, rural region north of the Salvadoran capital. He had been shot in the head.

Filipino-Canadian critic Alexis Tioseco, 29,  and his lover Nika Bohinc, a Slovenian freelance writer, were shot dead by one of three gunmen who burst into their home  during a robbery on Tuesday night in Quezon City, Manila.

Tioseco was founder of Criticine.com, a Web site critiquing Southeast Asian cinema, and was a regular contributor to publications including the Philippine Star, Screen International, Senses of Cinema and Osian’s Cinema. Bohinc, who lived between Slovenia and Manila, was editor in chief of Ekran film magazine.

Golden Globe winning actor Harve Presnell, best known for his role as William H. Macy’s father-in-law in the Coen Brothers’ 1996 hit  “Fargo” has died.  He was 75.  Presnell’s agent Gregg Klein said the actor died Tuesday of pancreatic cancer at St. John’s Health Center in Santa Monica.

Actor, David Carradine of (Kill Bill) was found dead in the closet of his room at Bangkok’s Swissotel Nai Lert Park Hotel on Thursday morning. Carradine was 72 years old.

Police initially said Carradine’s body was found “naked, hanging in a closet,” causing them to suspect he had taken his own life. On Friday, however, police said the actor may have died from accidental suffocation or heart failure after revealing that he was found with a rope tied around his wrist, neck and genitals – leading to speculation that Carradine may have engaged in a dangerous form of sex play known as auto-erotic asphyxiation.

Now the family of David Carradine is asking the FBI and a private forensics expert to help investigate the “Kill Bill” actor’s death.
