Sony Pictures Classics has reportedly picked up U.S. rights to Rodrigo Garcia’s ensemble drama “Mother and Child” that features strong performances from Annette Bening, Naomi Watts and Samuel L. Jackson. The film is centered around three women and the choices they’ve made concerning children, and is scheduled for a May 2010 opening.

Nicole Kidman has withdrawn from playing a role in Woody Allen’s latest, untitled project, reports Variety. The film which co-stars Antonio Banderas, Anthony Hopkins, Josh Brolin, Naomi Watts and Freida Pinto, is set to start shooting in London in the summer.
There is no word yet on who Kidman’s replacement will be.

Nicole Kidman in “Margot At The Wedding”
Woody Allen’s next film project doesn’t even have a name yet but he is lining up quite an impressive international cast. Australian Nicole Kidman is joining Spaniard Antonio Banderas, India’s Freida Pinto, British-Australian Naomi Watts, American Josh Brolin and Brit Anthony Hopkins. The film is scheduled to start shooting in London in the summer.

Antonio Banderas is the latest star to join the cast of Woody Allen’s next project. Banderas joins “Slumdog Millionaire” starlet Frieda Pinto, as well as Naomi Watts, Josh Brolin, and Anthony Hopkins. The untitled film is being produced by Mediapro, and is set to be shot in London later this year. This is Mediapro’s second Woody Allen production, the first being “Vicky Cristina Barcelona,” with an agreement in place to finance two more of his films.

The Berlin Film festival prepares to open this Thursday with the premiere of “The International”, a high budget thriller starring Clive Owens as an Interpol Agent investigating a massive banking scam. The film is being playfully called a “documentary” due to the recent economic crisis and revelation of banking fraud across the globe. Read More.
