9-year-old New Jersey filmmaker Emma Kenney’s short film “The New Girl in Town” was selected to screen in the New Jersey International Film Festival reports The Star Ledger.
The four-minute film, which stars Emma’s three friends, is about a new girl invited to a friend’s house for a sleep-over. The others at the party find out the girl is, in fact, a vampire and she can only be fought off by garlic potato chips.

A short film for Bob Dylan’s “Beyond Here Lies Nothin’” has been filmed by AFI and Sundance Film Festival award winning director Nash Edgerton, and can be seen exclusively on the IFC Channel and on IFC.com, from yesterday, Tuesday, May 12 until Thursday, May 12. The video made its broadcast premiere last night on the IFC Channel.

Best Buy is teaming up with Film Independent for the @15 Short Film Contest. The contest is open to filmmakers ages 13-18 and was set up to encourage the artistic and social development of young storytellers through film.
The top prize is a $1,500 Best Buy gift card.
Entries must be postmarked by April 15 and received by April 22, and fifteen finalists will be selected by a panel of judges, and uploaded to www.at15.com/film from May 1-15.
