"Gandhi’s Children" by Australian David MacDougall
The documentary film “Gandhi’s Children” by Australian David MacDougall was awarded the grand prize at the 10th Astra Film Festival in Sibiu in central Romania.
The best film in the international category was awarded to “Sweetgrass” (USA, 2009) by Lucien Castaing-Taylor and Ilisa Barbash; the best Romanian documentary film was awarded to “Birds’ Way,” by Klara Trencsenyi and the award by Hungarian Duna TV for Best European Film went to “Singing” by Italian Rosella Schillaci.
The Astra Film festival is one of the most-important events for documentary filmmakers in Europe.
