Batumi International Art-House Film Festival (BIAFF) 2008 Winners

October 23-29, 2008, Batumi, Georgia, hosted the 3rd Batumi International Art-House Film Festival (BIAFF).

The BIAFF jury headed by Mr. Pawel Pawlikowski (UK) and consisting of four members, Rezo Esadze ( Georgia), Zinovy Zinik (UK), Cezary Harasimowicz ( Poland), Mohsen Amiryoussefi ( Iran),  have awarded the BIAFF 2008 prizes:

GRAND  PRIX  __ “Women See Lot of Things”  by Meira Asher ( Netherlands / Israel), 2007

BEST  FEATURE  FILM   -    Klass by Ilmar Raag,  Estonia,  2007

BEST  DOCUMENTARY  FILM   Durakovo, Village of Fools by Nino Kirtadze,  France, 2007

BEST  ACTOR  Jan Frycz in  Immensity of Justice by  Wiesław Saniewski, Poland, 2007

BEST  ACTRESS  Marina Dinulescu in California Dreaming by Christian Nemescu, Romania, 2007

SPECIAL MENTION (For its use of an imaginative metaphor to deal with situation in Iran)  -  Lonely Tunes of Tehran, by Salmon Salur, Iran,  2007

JURY SPECIAL PRIZE  - Shadow of the Holly Book by  Arto Halonen, Finland /Denmark/Switzerland/Germany, 2007
