27th San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival

The 27th San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival opens with Lee Yoon-ki’s MY DEAR ENEMY, a breezy, pitch-perfect ride through the streets of Seoul and into the unsuspecting world of two ex-lovers, ENEMY brims with warmth and possibility while mining the magic, mystery and foibles of human relations. Rwanda Film Festival pushed back to June

Eric Kabera, founder of the Rwanda Cinema Centre (RCC), announced that this year’s Rwanda Film Festival has been pushed to June in order for it to coincide with the popular annually celebrated Gorilla Naming Ceremony commonly known as Kwita Izina. According to Kabera, the decision to push the festival forward, which normally takes place in March annually, was for it to coincide with the Kwita Izina week to allow more film makers to attend.  [via]

The theme of The Rwanda Film Festival this year will be under: ”Red Carpet to Hillywood.” In what has quickly become a tradition, the Rwanda Film Festival-Red carpet to Hillywood will come alive on June 12-19 in the hills ( Hillywood) and from the 21-27 2009 (Kigali venues).

Beaufort International Film Festival

The third annual Beaufort International Film Festival will take place March 6-8, 2009 in Beaufort, SC. With more than 100 entries from more than 24 countries worldwide ranging from Cambodia to Russia , 21 film finalists have been chosen for competition in this year’s festival.

Tickets on sale for Staten Island Film Festival

The fourth annual Staten Island Film Festival runs June 4-7 at the College of Staten Island, Willowbrook and tickets are on sale now. Independent film selections will be announced on April 2.  Read more …
