Boulder International Film Festival (BIFF)

Chevy Chase, Emmy award-winning comedian, writer and television and film actor, will receive an Award of Excellence in Comedy as well as be honored with a film retrospective of his work, at Opening Night of the 2009 Boulder International Film Festival (BIFF) on Thursday, Feb. 12, at the Boulder Theater in Boulder, Colo.
Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival
The ten finalists in the full-length feature category of the Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival and Competition 2009 were announced recently by the Cinemalaya Foundation.

The seventh Pune International Film Festival runs in Pune, India through January 15. The festival is showcasing around 150 films from about 42 countries. The 2nd International Children’s Film Festival ‘09, with the slogan “Future in Frames,” will run from on January 24 through January 30 in Bangladesh. Celebrating its Second Anniversary the Los Angeles Brazilian Film Festival (LABRFF) will take place at The Landmark, Westside Pavilion, from March 12 - 15, 2009. An Opening Night Gala will kick-off the festival on March 12th. LABRFF will showcase over 35 independent films and major studio releases from Brazil. Big Sky Documentary Film Festival
The Big Sky Documentary Film Festival, which opens Friday, February. 13, at the Wilma Theatre, is screening a record number of films this year, and has expanded its stay in Missoula to 10 full days. The films, culled from more than 1,000 entries across the world, will be shown over two full weekends and the week in between, said the BSDFF, which has released its official selections. Read more …
