The 2008 Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival kicks off tonight with the independent film Coyote starring Brian Petersen, Brett Spackman, Carley Adams, Marina Valle, Osvaldo Hernandez, and David C. Thompson. In the film, J. and Steve, best friends forever, stumble into an opportunity when a Mexican pal, recently deported, needs their help to get back across the border. Surprised at how easy it is to fool the Border Patrol agents in Nogales, the guys see it as a chance to corner the market as the ‘Kinder, Gentler People Smugglers,’ while beating the Minutemen at their own game in the process. Soon enough, J. and Steve learn the real danger in crossing boundaries.

The Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival runs through November 11 and brings 27 days of movies, parties, galas, seminars, and stars from all over the world to Fort Lauderdale, Florida .
