The 13th Annual Hollywood Film Festival’s “Hollywood Awards(r)” ceremony was held last night.
The winners of the festival’s film competition are: “CROSSING” by Kim Tae-kyun — Best Feature Film; “GARBAGE DREAMS” by Mai Iskander — Best Documentary; “SCENESTERS” by Todd Berger — Best Comedy; “STORIES FROM THE PERCH” by Andrew Zimbelman — Best Animation, “LAMBS” by Stephen Huff — Best Short Subject, “AS I LAY DYING - THE SOUND OF TRUTH” by Brian Thompson — Best Music Video.

Gabourey Sidibe in Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire
The 13th Annual Hollywood Film Festival and Hollywood Awards, presented by Starz, announced the honorees who will be recognized for their achievements at the festival’s Hollywood Awards Gala Ceremony.
Actress Carey Mulligan will receive the “Hollywood Breakthrough Actress Award,” actor Jeremy Renner will be honored with the “Hollywood Breakthrough Actor Award,” director Lee Daniels will receive the “Hollywood Breakthrough Director Award,” Gabourey Sidibe will receive the “New Hollywood Award,” and screenwriters Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber will be recognized with the “Hollywood Breakthrough Screenwriter Award.”
The gala ceremony will take place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills on October 26, 2009.

Twenty six films will be presented in the Competition programme of the 59th Berlin International Film Festival, 18 of which will compete for the Golden and Silver Bears in the Berlinale Palast. The official programme will be complemented by the Berlinale Special. Of the 18 films in competition, 14 are world premieres, and there are 17 world premieres in the complete Competition programme. Eighteen countries are represented. To this year’s Berlinale Special 15 films have been invited, 10 of which are world premieres. The following films complete the Competition and Berlinale Special:
