Incendies

Rio was the the box office winner last weekend – both domestically and internationally; with Tyler Perry, Madea’s Big Happy Family coming in at second place. Holdouts including the documentary African Cats, Soul Surfer, and Insidious performed well enough to remain in the top 10.

However, it was the Academy Award nominee for best foreign film, Incendies that scored the best theater average of the weekend with an estimated $54,582 from three theaters in New York and Los Angeles for a location average of $18,195. Wow. The Morgan Spurlock’s new documentary Pom Wonderful Presents: The Greatest Movie Ever Sold, however,  did get off to a weak start, grossing only an estimated per theater average of $7,506.

Here are the top 10 movies at the domestic box office, with foreign grosses where available, according to studio estimates and Hollywood.com [via]
