In a sign of its overall growth, Milwaukee Film has raised over $2,750,000 in cash, goods, and services for this year’s – 8th edition of the Milwaukee Film Festival from its 133 supporters.
As the Bank of the Milwaukee Film Festival, Associated Bank also becomes Presenting Sponsor of the Milwaukee Film Festival, providing financial and promotional support for the festival and its year-round programming.
Milwaukee Film’s Artistic & Executive Director Jonathan Jackson shared, “The 2016 sponsor lineup represents a game-changing moment for Milwaukee Film with an explosion in growth of support – led by Associated Bank whose commitment to the community is clear with their support for many important cultural institutions. We are proud to be considered one of these institutions and thrilled to enter a long-term agreement with Associated Bank as our Presenting Sponsor.”
The festival’s partnership with Associated Bank has grown over the past three years. The partnership is overseen by John Utz, Associated Bank Executive Vice President, Milwaukee Market President, and head of Corporate Banking and specialized financial services, who has served on the Milwaukee Film Board since 2014, and Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Christopher Piotrowski.
“Associated Bank is pleased to expand our partnership with the Milwaukee Film Festival, serving as the Presenting Sponsor as well as the Bank of the Milwaukee Film Festival,” said Christopher Piotrowski, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. “We support this incredible opportunity to offer film, education, and discussion to a diverse audience in our community. Together, we continue to make a positive difference through the power of film.”
“As a long-standing supporter of the arts, Associated Bank takes pride in sponsoring the Milwaukee Film Festival and contributing to the vitality of our community,” said John Utz, Associated Bank’s Milwaukee Market President and head of Corporate Banking. “I am honored to serve as a Milwaukee Film Board Member to support the continued growth of Milwaukee Film as an important community asset.”
The festival’s 49 new sponsors, who have provided over $350,000 in cash and in-kind support, signify the largest increase in support since the organization’s inception in 2008.
Among the new sponsors are Heiser Lincoln, Milwaukee Film’s Official Automotive Sponsor, helping Milwaukee Film Festival join the ranks of nationally-renowned festivals like AFI Film Festival in Los Angeles, Sundance Film Festival, and Tribeca Film Festival, who all feature prominent partnerships with automotive sponsors. Additional new sponsors include the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Ellenbecker Investment Group, Good City Brewing, and Marquette University.
In addition to new support, the Milwaukee Film Festival is honored to receive continuing and/or and increased support from past sponsors such as Donald and Donna Baumgartner, Herb Kohl Philanthropies, Herzfeld Foundation, Greater Milwaukee Foundation, KOSS, Marianne and Sheldon Lubar, Mandel Group, and United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County in partnership with Aurora Health Care. In particular, Herb Kohl Philanthropies has doubled their previous contribution for this year’s festival – demonstrating the local philanthropic community’s belief in the value of Milwaukee Film.
Longtime supporter the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel returns this year as the Presenting Media Sponsor of the Milwaukee Film Festival at the Premier Sponsor level. They are joined by returning media sponsors such as 88Nine Radio Milwaukee, Milwaukee Magazine, OnMilwaukee, and WMSE 91.7FM and new media sponsors including MPTV and Telemundo Wisconsin.
As one of the fastest-growing cultural events in the region, the Milwaukee Film Festival provides an incredible opportunity to connect with an ever-expanding and diverse cross section of the community. Advanced ticket sales for the 2016 Milwaukee Film Festival are up 15% over 2015.
