Actress Cho Min-su and actor Kim Uiseong are commissioned as jury members for ‘Award for Actor and Actress of the Year’ at the 2016 Busan International Film Festival.

The Busan International Film Festival’s ‘Award for Actor and Actress of the Year’ was made to discover new young talented actors. Nominees are selected from feature-length Korean films in New Currents and Korean Cinema Today – Vision section. The awards are announced at the Closing Ceremony in honor of an actor and actress who have delivered outstanding performances this year.

Jurors, Cho Min-su and Kim Uiseong will watch films during the festival to determine the best actor and the best actress of the year, wishing to motivate a younger generation of actors. Actress Cho Min-su has served on the jury at the many film festivals. Actor Kim Uiseong also has experience in film producing and showed outstanding performances in the film Train to Busan in recent.

The ‘Award for Actor and Actress of the Year’, in 2014, was given to Choi Woo-shik for the film Set Me Free and Cho Soohyang in the film Wild Flowers. In 2015, it was awarded to Lee Ju-Won for the film ALONE and Jang Sun in the film Communication & Lies To highlight the most outstanding of actors, previous winners of the Award are from various genres of film and media, with ongoing and active work. The Busan International Film Festival is always trying to discover new and powerful actors based on their work in independent films.

The 21st Busan International Film Festival will be held Thursday, October 6, 2016 to Saturday, October 15, 2016.

The Asian Film Market will be held Saturday, October 8, 2016 to Tuesday, October 11, 2016.

The Asian Project Market will be held Sunday, October 9, 2016 to Tuesday, October 11, 2016.
