Stephen Colbert, host of CBS’ “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert,” will host an evening with John Oliver, host of HBO’s “Last Week Tonight With John Oliver,” as a benefit for the Montclair Film Festival. The event will take place at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) in downtown Newark, NJ on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 8:00 PM.
“Wow, That Was Weird: A Post-Election Evening With Stephen Colbert and John Oliver” will feature the pair in an hilarious, on-stage exchange on everything from their comic influences to the political season that will have concluded with the November election.
Proceeds from this special evening will benefit the Montclair Film Festival, a 501(c)3 non-profit arts organization featuring year-round cinema, film education, and community programs that reach over 30,000 patrons a year.
“At the end of a long, contentious political campaign, we could all use a good laugh,” said Montclair Film Festival Executive Director Tom Hall. “We are so honored by the generosity of Stephen Colbert and John Oliver in making this once in a lifetime event happen, and we look forward to a fantastic night of fun.”
“Our four-year alliance with The Montclair Film Festival is a proud example of how two of the state’s outstanding cultural entities combine resources and efforts to present original and unique programming,” said John Schreiber, NJPAC President and CEO. “It’s a win-win partnership, not just for NJPAC and New Jersey’s leading film non-profit, but for the full-house audiences who look forward to the fun of this worthy benefit each season.”
