2016 seattle shorts film festival

Seattle Shorts Film Festival announced the 2016 jury and audience award winners from this year’s edition, which ran November 11 to 13 at SIFF Film Center.

Seattle Shorts Film Festival, now in its sixth year, received over 1,000 films from Pacific Northwest, national, and international filmmakers. The program featured a wide variety of films this year, from music videos to shorts, as well as an Opening Night feature-length narrative film!

2016 Jury Awards Winners:

Grand Jury Prize: Creased (dir. Jade Justad)
Best Director – Bita Shafipour (Last Night in Edinburgh)
Best Actor – Kristoffer Polaha (Frontman)
Best New Talent – Alexandra Turshen (Behind the Wall)
Best Cinematography – Venom Therapy
Best College Student Short – Bunee: The Boy from Constanta
Best Animation – The Wishgranter
Best Documentary – Bunee: The Boy from Constanta
Best Music Video – Cupido

Rachelle Henry

The winner of the $1,000 and full scholarship to the Young Actors Theater Camp is Rachelle Henry. Rachelle will attend the 10-day overnight camp (for actors ages 8-18) this summer in Santa Cruz, California.
