The new French comedy-drama Cyrano, My Love, by writer, director, actor Alexis Michalik, adapted from his award-winning stage play Edmond, opens October 18th in NY at the Landmark at 57 West and the Royal in LA.

Cyrano, My Love starring Thomas Solivérès (The Intouchables) Olivier Gourmet (The Minister) Mathilde Seigner (Everyone’s Life), Tom Leeb, Lucie Boujenah, Alice De Lencquesaing follows the life of young Edmond Rostand (Thomas Solivérès) as he creates the most beloved international play, Cryano de Bergerac.

December 1897, Paris. Edmond Rostand is not yet thirty, but he already has two children and a lot of anxiety. He hasn’t written anything for two years. In desperation, he offers the great actor Constant Coquelin a new play, a heroic comedy, written in verse for the holidays. There is just one problem: the play hasn’t been written yet. Ignoring the whims of the actresses, the demands of his Corsican producers, his wife’s jealousy, his best friend’s relationship problems and the lack of enthusiasm of all those around him, Edmond begins to write the play that nobody believes in. For the time being, he only has the title: ‘Cyrano de Bergerac’.

In 2017, Michalik’s Edmond won the Molière Award for Best Show in a Private Theatre, Best Playwright and Best Director of a Private Theatre Show and was nominated for Best Comedy and Visual Creation.
