Jemele Hill Voices Showtime ‘Shut Up and Dribble’ Short Feature Series

Showtime Sports announced the new short feature series, “Shut Up and Dribble”, voiced by journalist Jemele Hill set to be released on the Showtime Basketball YouTube Channel and air interstitially on Showtime over the next two weeks.

The new, six-part series, from the makers of “Shut Up and Dribble”, the 2018 Showtime Sports Documentary Films series from executive producers LeBron James and Maverick Carter, and Emmy Award winning director Gotham Chopra, features bonus footage and never-before-seen elements from the original series, which spotlights the changing role of basketball and its athletes in advancing social justice and civil rights.

Expanding on subjects and themes from the original three-part docu-series, the features reveal insights from Craig Hodges’ failed protest following the Rodney King incident, [‘The Mission,’ available now], as well as Oscar Robertson’s landmark demand for free agency and social change from the perspective of traditionally white team ownership and more. Key voices throughout the feature series include Kendrick Lamar, Bob Costas, Arsenio Hall, Jesse Jackson, Mark Cuban, Adam Silver and Steve Kerr, among others from basketball’s progressive history.
