2021 Cannes Film Festival Postponed

Cannes Festival announced that the 74th edition of the festival originally scheduled to take place in May will now tentatively take place in July.

In a brief statement, the festival announced:

As announced last autumn, the Festival de Cannes reserved the right to change its dates depending on how the global health situation developed.

Initially scheduled from 11 to 22 May 2021, the 74th Festival will therefore now take place from Tuesday 6 to Saturday 17 July 2021.

Cannes Film Festival postponed the 2020 edition due to the COVID19 pandemic, and instead held a special Fall edition titled “2020 Special Cannes” featuring part of the 2020 Cannes Official Selection. I Am Afraid to Forget Your Face directed by Sameh Alaa was named the unanimous winner of the Palme d’or at the “Cannes 2020 Special.”
