Sony Pictures Classics will release the documentary film WHO WE ARE — A Chronicle of Racism in America, ACLU Deputy Legal Director Jeffery Robinson’s powerful and groundbreaking talk on the history of U.S. anti-Black racism. The documentary had its world premiere at the 2021 SXSW Film Festival where it won the Documentary Spotlight Audience Award.
Following an awards qualifying run at the end of this year, the film directed by Emily Kunstler and Sarah Kunstler and written by Jeffery Robinson will be released on January 14, 2022, and expand throughout the month of February, Black History Month.
Interweaving lecture, personal anecdotes, interviews, and shocking revelations, in WHO WE ARE — A Chronicle of Racism in America, criminal defense/civil rights lawyer Jeffery Robinson draws a stark timeline of anti-Black racism in the United States, from slavery to the modern myth of a post-racial America.
