The Black Film Critics Circle awarded Reinaldo Marcus Green’s King Richard, the honor of Best Film of 2021, along with Best Actor for Will Smith and Best Supporting Actress for Aunjanue Ellis, as exclusively reported by Variety.
Other awards went to “Summer of Soul (…Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised)” for Documentary and “The Hand of God” for Foreign Film.
Special awards including Pioneer Award went to Janicza Bravo for Zola and a Special Mention to Questlove, director of Summer of Soul (…Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised).
