Neon has released the official trailer for The Worst Person In The World (Verdens Verste Menneske), the Norwegian dark romantic comedy-drama film starring Renate Reinsve, Anders Danielsen Lie and Herbert Nordrum.

The finale (following Reprise and Oslo) in Joachim Trier’s “Oslo Trilogy” stars Renate Reinsve as a 30-year-old woman in the midst of an existential crisis as she navigates between career and romantic choices, and her own refusal to be defined — even by herself.

The film premiered at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival, where Renate Reinsve won the award for Best Actress for her performance in the film. It was selected as the Norwegian entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 94th Academy Awards, and made the Academy shortlist.

The Worst Person In The World opens in theaters on February 4th.

Director Joachim Trier returns with another modern twist on a classically constructed character portrait of contemporary life in Oslo. Chronicling four years in the life of Julie, The Worst Person In The World examines one woman’s quest for love and meaning in the modern world. Fluidly told in twelve chapters, the film features a breakout performance by Cannes Best Actress winner Renate Reinsve as she explores new professional avenues and embarks on relationships with two very different men (Anders Danielsen Lie and Herbert Nordrum) in her search for happiness and identity.
