The Power of the Dog dominated the 2021 Austin Film Critics Association (AFCA) awards, winning 5 awards including Best Film, Best Director for Jane Campion, Best Supporting Actress for Kirsten Dunst, Best Supporting Actor for Kodi Smit-McPhee and Best Original Score.

Pig was also a big winner scoring Best First Film for Michael Samoski, Best Actor for Nicolas Cage and Best Original Screenplay.

The winner of this year’s Robert R. “Bobby” McCurdy Memorial Breakthrough Artist Award is Alana Haim for her memorable performance in Licorice Pizza.

Other major awards went to Summer of Soul (…Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised) for Best Documentary; Drive My Car won Best International Film along with Best Adapted Screenplay and The French Dispatch won for Best Ensemble.
