Calgary Underground Film Festival will close on Friday, April 29 with Marcel the Shell with Shoes On is a live-action comedy starring Jenny Slate and Isabella Rossellini, based on the short YouTube films of the same name.

“We’re excited we could bring in another film to close out the in-person part of the festival, and this film is such a perfect way to round out the lineup. Marcel the Shell with Shoes On is a highly-anticipated film, which we had a chance to see at SXSW, loved it, and like so many of our titles we’re showing this year, will be so great to experience on the big screen,” said CUFF Festival Director and Lead Programmer Brenda Lieberman.

Calgary Underground Film Festival returned to Globe Cinema for an in-person spring festival, opening with the Canadian Premiere of DUAL from CUFF alumnus Riley Stearns (The Art of Self-Defense).

From April 21 – May 1, CUFF will showcase 40+ feature films & specials events as part of this year’s hybrid festival. The first nine days (April 21-29) take place at Globe Cinema, with three days of online viewing (April 29 – May 1).
