ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

Japan Film Festival of San Francisco is the first and only fully-dedicated annual Japanese film event of the S.F. Bay Area. The festival informs the American public about the diverse uniqueness of Japanese popular culture, by means of funding, producing, distributing, and exhibiting film, art and music projects, and by promoting them through various media and year-round events. Main guests in the past have included Masato Harada (director), Kaori Momoi (actor/director), Shunji Iwai (director), Miwa Nishikawa (director), Mitsutoshi Tanaka (director), Shinsuke Sato (director), Tadanobu Asano (Actor), Yuki Furukawa (actor), Tokyo Girls’ Style (vocal and dance group), Koji Morimoto (Animator) and many more.
