If Beale Street Could Talk, Barry Jenkins adaptation of James Baldwin’s 1974 novel won three award honors, including Best Picture of 2018 from the Boston Society of Film Critics.

Marielle Heller’s Can You Ever Forgive Me? also won three award honors including Best Actress for Melissa McCarthy.

Morgan Neville’s  Won’t You Be My Neighbor won for best documentary; Shoplifters won for Best Foreign-Language Film and Bo Burnham won for Best New Filmmaker for Eighth Grade.
