Other films receiving nominations include Parasite (8 nominations), 1917 (7), The Irishman (7), and Jojo Rabbit (7).

Scarlett Johansson garnered two acting nominations. She is nominated for Best Actress for her work in “Marriage Story”, and for Best Supporting Actress for her role in “Jojo Rabbit”.

Clint Redwine, president of the MCFCA said, “This was a great year for great films across all genres and styles. Our list of Best Picture nominees includes mega-blockbusters on the big screen, indie films, a foreign language film, movies from streaming platforms, and a documentary. It is going to be a very difficult process trying to pick the winners this year because we have so many deserving nominees in all categories.”

The association is comprised of 30 professional film critics that live and work in or around Nashville, TN. The winners will be announced on January 10, 2020.
