RIP: Fashion Designer Pierre Cardin, Featured in Documentary “House of Cardin” Dies at 98

Fashion designer Pierre Cardin, profiled in the 2019 documentary House of Cardin, died on Tuesday at the American Hospital in Neuilly-sur-Seine, just outside Paris. He was 98.

House Of Cardin is a rare peek into the mind of a genius, an authorized feature documentary chronicling the life and design of Pierre Cardin. A true original, Mr. Cardin has granted the directors exclusive access to his archives and his empire and unprecedented interviews at the sunset of a glorious career.

Directed by husband/husband team P. David Ebersole and Todd Hughes, the documentary House of Cardin premiered at the Venice Film Festival and features interviews with Naomi Campbell (model), Amy Fine Collins (writer), Alice Cooper (rock star), Jean Paul Gaultier (designer), Jean Michel Jarre (composer), Yumi Katsura (designer), Hanae Mori (designer), Guo Pei (designer), Jenny Shimizu (model), Philippe Starck (designer), Sharon Stone (actress), Kenzō Takada (designer), Trina Turk (designer), and Dionne Warrick (singer); and from the House Of Cardin: Rodrigo Basilicati Cardin, Maryse Gaspard, Matthew Gonder, Jean-Pascal Hesse, Renée Taponier.
