Neon revealed the official trailer for Sanctuary, described as a wickedly dark comedy starring Margaret Qualley as dominatrix Rebecca, and Christopher Abbott as her wealthy client, Hal.

Directed by Zachary Wigon, Sanctuary world premiered at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival and will open in theaters with a limited theatrical release on May 19, 2023, followed by wide release on May 25, 2023.

Set over the course of one night in a single hotel room, dominatrix Rebecca and her wealthy client, Hal engages in a high stakes role playing game for power and control. In the wake of inheriting his father’s hotel chain, Hal attempts to end his long and secret relationship with Rebecca. A battle of wills ensues over the course of one incredibly fraught night, with both Rebecca and Hal struggling to keep the upper hand as the power dynamics swing wildly back and forth.
