The 77th Cannes Film Festival set to take place May 14-25, 2024, unveiled the Official Selection films in Competition, Un Certain Regard, Out of Competition, Midnight Screenings, Cannes Premiere and Special Screenings.
Films in the coveted In Competition include Ali Abbasi’s The Apprentice, a biopic film on Donald Trump‘s career as a real estate businessman in New York in the 1970s and 80s; Andrea Arnold’s Bird starring Barry Keoghan and Franz Rogowski; Emilia Perez, Jacques Audiard’s musical crime thriller film starring Selena Gomez and Zoe Saldaña; Megalopolis, Francis Ford Coppola’s epic science fiction drama film starring Adam Driver, Giancarlo Esposito, Jon Voight, Laurence Fishburne, Aubrey Plaza, Shia LaBeouf, Jason Schwartzman; Kinds of Kindness, Poor Things filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos latest collab with Emma Stone; The Shroud, David Cronenberg’s horror film starring Diane Kruger, Vincent Cassel and Guy Pearce; Oh, Canada, Paul Schrader’s drama based on the novel Foregone starring Richard Gere, Uma Thurman, Michael Imperioli, Jacob Elordi; and Parthenope, Paolo Sorrentino’s drama starring Gary Oldman.
The world premiere of The Second Act (Le Deuxième Acte) the latest film from French director and screenwriter Quentin Dupieux, who is also a musician, will open the 77th edition of Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday, May 14.
