Actor John Saxon best known for his work in horror movies such as Nightmare on Elm Street and starring opposite Bruce Lee in Enter the Dragon died on Saturday of pneumonia in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He was 83.

Saxon first role was in 1955 in Running Wild, and he went on to star in more than 200 film and tv projects during a span of 60 years.

Saxon appeared in numerous horror movies such as Black Christmas, A Nightmare on Elm Street, along with small roles in Wes Craven’s New Nightmare and From Dusk till Dawn; and co-starred with Bruce Lee in the martial arts movie Enter the Dragon.

In recent years, he has appeared in a number of independent movies with his last acting role, the 2017 comedy film The Extra directed by Mike Donahue.

Shannon Lee (daughter of Bruce Lee) and actors John Saxon and Bob Wall remember the martial arts legend and his classic “Enter the Dragon” at the Academy’s 40th anniversary screening on April 17, 2013 at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater.
