Focus Features debuted the official trailer for The American Society of Magical Negroes, a satirical comedy film starring Justice Smith as a new recruit in a secret society of magical Black people who dedicate their lives to a cause of utmost importance: making white people’s lives easier.

Also starring in the film are David Alan Grier, An-Li Bogan, Drew Tarver, Michaela Watkins, Aisha Hinds, Tim Baltz, Rupert Friend and Nicole Byer.

Release Date

Directed by Kobi Libii, The American Society of Magical Negroes is set to world premiere at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival and open in theaters with a release date of March 22, 2024.

Synopsis

For centuries, there has been a society hidden in plain sight, working in secret to protect Black people from harm. It’s called The American Society of Magical Negroes.
