For its second edition, DC/DOX documentary film festival will open with Ian Bonhôte and Peter Ettedgui’s Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story, and close with Every Little Thing, directed by Sally Aitkin. The Centerpiece Screening will be Lana Wilson’s Look into My Eyes, and the Spotlight Screening will be Luther: Never Too Much, Dawn Porter’s Luther Vandross biopic. The second annual DC/DOX festival will be held June 13-16, 2024 in Washington, DC.
“After an amazing kickoff, DC/DOX is back to bring the best in documentary film to the nation’s capital,” said DC/DOX co-founder and festival director Sky Sitney. “These four signature films capture important aspects of our human experience: resilience in the face of adversity, the beauty found in small acts of kindness, the power of art and music to unite people in our shared humanity, and the universal desire to find higher meaning in our lives.”

DC/DOX was founded in 2022 with the goal to bring together innovative visions, bold voices, and timely stories in our nation’s capital. Last year’s first edition featured over 60 films from eight countries, including the World Premieres of MSNBC Films’ Between Life & Death: Terri Schiavo’s Story Television film and Dawn Porter’s Showtime Series Deadlocked. Special guests included Joan Baez, Nikki Giovanni, and NASA astronauts Ed Dwight, Victor Glover, and Leland Melvin.
