ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

Derived from the idea based on the simple fact that every individual has a right to participate in the cultural life, Ankara Accessible Film Festival started its journey in 2013. The purpose was, and still is, to state that the conditions are need to be arranged for disabled individuals for their right to engage in social and cultural activities like anyone else. An annual program is prepared for the festival, which consists of contemporary and classical films –both feature and short ones- as well as documentaries from the Turkish and world cinema. As all of the movies specifically prepared to be accesible, these movies are collected in the Accessible Film Library, which aims to be an accessible film archive.
