The Zone of Interest Glazer (A24)

Jonathan Glazer’s The Zone of Interest was named Film of the Year at the 44th London Critics’ Circle Film Awards along with prizes for director and the mix of music and sound.

Andrew Haigh’s All of Us Strangers won the Attenborough Award for British/Irish Film of the Year, along with Actor of the Year for Andrew Scott and British/Irish Performer for his costar Paul Mescal for his overall body of work in 2023.

Actress of the Year went to Emma Stone for Poor Things, and supporting performance awards were won by Da’Vine Joy Randolph for The Holdovers and Charles Melton for May December.

Mstyslav Chernov’s 20 Days in Mariupol won Documentary of the Year, Celine Song’s Past Lives was named Foreign-Language Film of the Year, and Hayao Miyazaki’s The Boy and the Heron won the new Animated Film award.

Jeffrey Wright received the prestigious Dilys Powell Award for Excellence in Film, presented to him by American Fiction director Cord Jefferson; and Misan Harriman, Oscar nominated this year for his short The After, presented the inaugural Derek Malcolm Award for Innovation to Colman Domingo.

Mia McKenna-Bruce received the first international Breakthrough Performance award for How to Have Sex, and the film’s writer-director Molly Manning Walker won the Philip French Award for British/Irish Breakthrough Filmmaker.
