Bollywood and Hollywood is mourning the death of 40-year-old actor-director-producer Manish Acharya who passed away in Matheran in Maharashtra, India.

Acharya was reportedly on a holiday with his wife and two children when he fell off a horse and hit himself on the head. He was rushed to the Ambani Hospital in Nerul but was declared dead by doctors Saturday.

Acharya studied filmmaking at the New York University and did his MFA in Film Directing from the NYU Tisch School of the Arts. He came to prominence with his debut film ‘Loins of Punjab Presents’. His other films include ‘Sita Sings The Blues’ and Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Luck By Chance’.
